One of our core Values is Growth: Loving by equipping one another to live a Christian life. A Christian life includes discipleship, growing specifically in faith. It also includes fellowship, service, friendships, and fun. Living a Christian life means living like Jesus – surrounded by people on a journey with you. Welcome to Life Groups: Christlikeness in Community.

Young Adults

A diverse, active, fun-loving crew, this group is made up of high school graduates all the way through young adults in their 20’s. They meet on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month at 6pm. Their gatherings include food, games, bible study, and deep connections. Pastor Kyle and his wife, Menda, lead this group and host in their home in Lawrence.

Discoverers’ Class

This is a traditional adult Sunday school class that meets every Sunday morning during the 9AM service. A deep and well-researched Bible study is always offered, with plenty of opportunities for questions and discussion. The leaders, Bruce, Doug, and Glen, care deeply about discipleship and solid biblical studies.

20’s and 30’s

This group is less about your age and more about what stage of life you’re in. The group is made up of both couples and singles, many of whom have young kids. It’s a lively bunch when you get them all together! You’ll often find them discussing the most recent sermon series, and there’s always food!

LFC Teens

Our youth group, grades 6-12, meets Wednesday nights from 6-7:30pm. Games and fun connections happen during the first half hour, and the group settles in for their lesson and discussion at 6:30. This is a thriving group led by our Youth Pastor, Austin.

For more information visit the LFC Teens page.

Eudora Group – Woolaway

This group thoroughly enjoys connecting on deeper levels and deeply values relationships. They usually eat together, spend time in the Word, and laugh a lot around the table. Steve and Kristine Woolaway host this group in their home in Eudora.

Wellsville Group – Holmes

This group meets a couple times a month and really values playing together! They enjoy meals and lively conversation, and have frequent game nights. This is an intergenerational group with lots of kids! Bryan and Hilary Holmes lead this group at their home in Wellsville.

Lawrence Group – Dunn

This group is made of mostly older adults who really value studying the word. They’ll likely be found in a book study that unpacks scripture on deeper levels, and meet on the 2nd and 4th Sundays. Don and Janice Dunn host this group in their home in Lawrence.

FAQ’s

Want to know a few more details about what Life Groups are, how to be a part of one, or even how to start one? Check out our FAQ’s for many answers, or feel free to contact us through the form for a more detailed response.

What do Life Groups talk about?

Life Groups can choose from a large library of options to guide your group in creating community, developing deeper relationships with Christ, or providing an introduction to who Jesus is. It all depends on where your group is, and where you want to go.

What if I don't know much about Christianity or the Bible?

Life groups are for everyone, wherever you are on your journey. We want to do life together, and we want you to be part of that. Come as you are, ask whatever questions you like, and know that we are all on a journey, and we are learning and growing together.

Do I have to attend LFC to join a Life Group?

No, you don’t have to attend LFC. Life Groups are open to everyone regardless of where or if they attend church.

Can I find a Life Group for people in my life stage?

We actually build our Life Groups so that all kinds of people do life together. Most Life Groups will have people in various life stages, although there will be several groups specific to a particular life stage.

Can I bring my kids?

Each Life Group will answer this question differently: however, many of our Life Groups are intergenerational and provide space for children to come along and enjoy community together. If you have children, please let us know so we can connect you with a group that fits your family’s needs!

Can I start a new life group?

We would love for you to lead a group! Each group needs a host and a helper. Contact lifegroups@lawrencefirst.org if you are interested in starting or leading a group, and we’ll help you get started.
